Flat roofs are roofs with pitches less than 2 and 12. According to Florida roofing and building codes, shingles are prohibited on these flat roof pitches. There are several different options for roof systems on low slope roofs.
Tar and gravel roofing is among the most common in Florida (on both homes and businesses). It consists of several layers of tar, with a top coat of gravel to hold the roofing material down. The repair of these roofs involves coating hot tar over the problem area and adding gravel. In extreme circumstances, sections may be cut away and replaced.
A rubber roof (very common on commercial and industrial buildings) is welded into place with heat. We can repair blisters and leaks, as well as peeling around the edges of fixtures. This flat roof repair may be a simple procedure of re-bonding the synthetic.
