Re-Roofing

When approaching a re-roofing project, we evaluate the roof to determine the most comprehensive and cost-effective method to complete the repair.  Understanding your roof’s pitch and type is our area of expertise. Generally, every roof has one of the following four roof types:

  1. Gable Roof – A roof that contains two sloping planes of equal pitch on both sides of the ridge. On the perpendicular ends there is a gable, which is the upper part of each sidewall that creates a triangular point at the ridge of the roof.
  2. Hip Roof – A roof that contains four sloping planes of the same pitch but not the same size. The front and back of the roof are usually the major slopes and the two sides of the roof are the smaller planes. (Note: A hip roof does not have a gable.)
  3. Hip and Valley –A roof that is comprised of two or more hip roofs joined perpendicular to each other. This is what creates a valley – when two planes meet.
  4. Gable and Valley – A roof that is created when another gable or hip roof intersects with the non-gable side(s) of a gable roof.  Many times these roofs are usually due to an addition being added to a gable-type home.

Once we assess your roof, we map out the best process to complete the repair in a timely fashion with precision quality. Removing the damaged or worn shingles and felt paper down to roof wood decking is the first step in ensuring a proper repair. We also inspect and replace any rotten wood decking, and re-nail roof decking to current hurricane codes on every repair. The next step is to install new roofing underlayment as we make sure to completely cover each gable and/or valley accordingly. The final step is to install your preselected new shingles from one of our top quality manufacturers.
